A very heartfelt thank you to everyone that entered one of my Blogiversary giveaways this year. I am amazed at your support and love. I can't wait to do it again next year. :)

Stay tuned for a Finished Object Friday post later today!

As promised, I'm back with the final blogiversary giveaway for this year. From now until midnight on June 28th, you can enter to win a skein of Fable Fibers Folktale in Silver Birch and a set of matching stitch markers from Knitter's Pride.

Fable Fibers Folktale (try saying that three times fast!) is a superwash merino sock yarn with 400 yards per skein. Silver Birch is a fun variegated gray and white colorway. And, the best part is that it's hand dyed in North Carolina by Lelah. The stitch markers are ring stitch markers with gunmetal hearts and pearl beads. They're sized to fit different needles. They will come in their original packaging with a darning needle.

Since this giveaway is to celebrate my first year of blogging,  you have to be a subscriber of this blog (somehow!) to enter. All of the usual rules and ways to enter apply - just use the rafflecopter widget below. Be sure to leave either your ravelry name or email address with your entry. I'll announce the winner in a new post on June 28th. Good luck!!

Just because it has to be said, this is not a sponsored giveaway. I just want to share the love and say thank you for a fantastic first year.

Congratulations to this week's winner - Carmen (cnuland on Ravelry)! Carmen received an adorable child's sweater pattern called #144 Three Flavor Delight Top-Down Cardigan. I can't wait to see your sweater!

The final giveaway for June still has some loose ends to finish up, so I'll be back on Monday with that one. It will run from Monday the 17th until Friday the 28th, but that's all I can say so far. You'll just have to come back on Monday!

Happy weekend!

This giveaway is now closed.

A big thank you to all of you for playing along with this week's pattern giveaway! The winner is Jesse! Jesse chose Pendulum by Amy Miller and I can't wait to see the color combination she comes up with!

Don't worry if you didn't win, this week's giveaway is another pattern giveaway! Just leave a comment below telling me when you learned to knit.  I absolutely love learning about why people fall in love with knitting! So, feel free to elaborate on the why or how if you want. As always, you can earn extra entries if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram.

Good luck and happy knitting!

On June 22nd, I'll celebrate a year of blogging here on knitwisepurlwise.com!

I originally started this blog just to chronicle the things I knit. I wanted to have a place to talk about the successes, things I've learned, trials, and tribulations of any given knitting project. I didn't really expect anyone besides my mom (hi Mom!) to read it. So imagine my surprise when you all started leaving me such thoughtful, lovely comments - encouragement when I had a rough time with a pattern, help choosing yarn, celebrating a great finished object. You all have been fantastic! I am so honored to have such wonderful readers.

To celebrate my anniversary, I want to celebrate you, my readers! Without you all, knitwisepurlwise.com wouldn't be nearly as meaningful to me. So, I'm giving away 4 patterns - one a week for the month of June to you guys. Each Friday (the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th) I'm going to pick a winner via Rafflecopter, and that winner will get the first pattern in their queue on Ravelry. So go double check your queue - make sure your number one spot is something that you really want and that you have a single, paid pattern listed first!

To enter, just leave a comment on this post telling me how you read the blog. As usual, you have to be a follower of my blog (either via RSS, Bloglovin', Feedly, etc). You can earn extra entries too - see the widget below for more chances to win. Good luck!!

Project bags - I have about a million of them. I use them for everything - knitting projects (obviously), spinning stuff, stray bits of yarn, printed patterns, works in progress (that I'll get to someday, promise!), extra yarn to go with the project I'm currently working on, projects that are in a time out, or things that just plain need to be frogged. And then there's the non-knitting related uses - there's a small one in the bottom of my purse to corral any odds and ends that somehow make their way into my purse, my son has absconded one to keep his action figures in, and I've even used one as a shoe bag when traveling.

I can use (and have used) just about anything as a project bag. I've used old cosmetic bags, mesh lingerie bags, cotton drawstring bags, heck I've even use a ziploc bag and old shopping bags in the past. Now that I have quite the selection, I save my nicer ones for my knitting related needs. You know the ones - they're soft, it has a drawstring (bonus points if it works well), there aren't any rips, and they're big enough for a WIP.

My absolute favorite project bags are from JennieGee. I think I have 4 (or maybe 5...who's counting anyway?). They are made out of cotton muslin, so they're super soft. Jennie hand-dyes and screen prints the bags individually. Talk about a labor of love!

I have at least one small bag (you can see the post about getting it here) and several large bags. I haven't purchased a tote yet, but it's next on my list. The small size is perfect size for a sock, hat or mitten project, while the larger size is great for nearly everything else. I say nearly because it will easily fit shawls, small sweaters, baby items, and more - but definitely not a men's worsted weight sweater or the gigantic blanket I tried to shove in there. You'd be better off with one of JennieGee's canvas totes for something of that size (hence it being next on my list).

JennieGee has graciously offered to give away a small project bag screen printed with "Keep Calm and Carry Yarn" to one of you (see details below)! And because she's really awesome, she's offering a 15% off coupon for the next month to all Knitwise, Purlwise readers! Use coupon code "WISE1" at checkout.
